Places We Know

Places we know was a collaborative installation at Glasgow School of Art. The installation was presented at Project Space 2 at the Art School in Glasgow over the course of three days. The idea was to create an immersive and meditative experience from visual material that the team gathered.
The material is divided on a strict grid of equal squares and oscillates between original video footage and its pixelated counterpart. The dichotomy between digital and analogue experience is enforced by the contrasting piano and noise patterns of the soundtrack.
Team Members include Ane Lopez, Doris Panholzer, Herwig Scherabon and Joanna Yang. Photography by Doris Panholzer

The music used for the performance was from the album Vrioon by Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto.
